An honest HuntPay review, and when Malvavisco fits instead.
Looking for a HuntPay alternative? Start with what HuntPay does well and what it costs, taken from its own pages. HuntPay is a mobile booking and payments app for hunting guides and outfitters, from the team behind the Venku marketplace. Malvavisco is built around running the lodge: rooms, guides, stands, the cook, the bar and the bill, in English, Spanish or Portuguese. We wrote this page, and we say when HuntPay is the better choice.
What is the best HuntPay alternative?
It depends on what you want to change. If you mostly need bookings, invoices and card payments on your phone at a low monthly price, HuntPay is hard to beat, and Hunt Outfitter is its closest alternative. If you need waivers, licenses and harvest records together, look at HuntDocs or Krytter. If the hard part is the lodge (rooms, guides and stands, the cook’s meal counts and a bar tab on one bill, in Spanish, English or Portuguese), Malvavisco fits better.

What HuntPay’s pages don’t cover
We found no mention of meal planning, a bar or shop with stock, licenses, tags or harvest records, interface languages other than English, or currencies other than the dollar amounts on its pricing page. If any of that matters, ask HuntPay during its demo. For a wider field, see the best hunting lodge software comparison, or how Malvavisco runs a hunting lodge.
HuntPay reviews and alternatives
For guides and outfitters who want bookings, invoices and payments on a phone, its pages describe a simple, low-cost tool: a free plan with online bookings and payment processing, reminders and text messages from $29, lodging, staff and tipping from $79, and waivers from $149. It fits less well if you run a lodge with meals and a bar, or need licenses and harvest records.
HuntPay’s pricing page lists four plans: Basic free, Core $29 a month, Growth $79 a month and Max $149 a month. It says there are no setup fees, no cancellation fees and no long-term contracts, and offers a free trial. The page doesn’t list card processing rates.
For running the lodge, yes: bookings, rooms, guides and stands, the kitchen, the point of sale, payments and reports. It does not replace HuntPay’s online bookings, card processing, tipping, waivers or Venku listing.
Yes, for free. Our team sets up your rooms, rates, services, guides, assets and staff roles, enters every upcoming booking with its deposits, loads your guest list and rebuilds your emails, then checks it with you before you switch. Past hunts and signed waivers stay in HuntPay.
Venku is a marketplace where people find and book outdoor trips; HuntPay is the office software for outfitters, built by the same team. Every HuntPay plan, including the free one, lists your hunts on Venku.
Its website is in English and doesn’t mention other interface languages. Malvavisco’s staff app runs in Spanish, English or Brazilian Portuguese, with guest emails in all three.
