For fishing lodges and estancias from Río Grande to Aysén.

A foreign guest paying in dollars, a local team that works in Spanish, guides and boats spread across rivers and lakes, and an asado every night. Malvavisco keeps the whole season in one place.

What does a Patagonia fishing lodge need from its software?

Patagonia fishing lodge software has to work in Spanish for the team and English for owners and agents, keep foreign anglers’ dollar bookings apart from peso bookings, and schedule guides, boats and trucks across rivers and lakes. Malvavisco does this. Fiscal invoices such as Argentina’s factura T stay in your invoicing system.

Taxes, currencies and seasons in Argentina and Chile

What Malvavisco does, and what stays with your accountant.

Argentina: factura T and the VAT refund for foreign guests

Lodging sold to foreign tourists is invoiced with a factura T, and foreign guests can recover the 21% VAT on lodging when they pay with a card issued abroad or an international transfer; payments in pesos do not qualify. Malvavisco does not issue fiscal invoices: the factura T stays in your current invoicing system. What it does is keep each booking’s currency and payments clear, so the dollar bookings and the way they were paid are easy to find when the invoice is issued.

Chile: VAT-exempt stays for foreign tourists

In Chile, lodging for non-resident tourists can be exempt from VAT when it is paid in foreign currency and invoiced with an export invoice. That invoice is issued from your SII-connected system, not from Malvavisco. Recording dollar bookings in dollars, separate from peso bookings, helps keep that trail clean.

Mercado Pago in Argentina

Malvavisco can create Mercado Pago payment links for bookings in Argentine pesos. They suit local guests and on-site extras rather than a foreign angler’s lodging bill, and they have not been tested live yet. Everything else is recorded by your team: cash, bank transfers, a card terminal.

Seasons and stays

Río Grande’s sea-trout season runs roughly from January to April, Aysén’s from late October to mid-April. Malvavisco’s season view shows six months of rooms, guides and boats at once, and arrival and nights set every departure.

Estancias and full board

Estancias that sell horseback rides, asados and fishing days can schedule horses like any other asset, and include breakfast, lunch, dinner or a picnic in the stay without charging for them again.

Connectivity

Many remote lodges now run on satellite internet. Malvavisco is a web app and needs a connection; there is no offline mode yet.

Malvavisco suits your Patagonia lodge if…

A good fit

  • Your team works in Spanish and the owner or agents in English
  • You bill foreign anglers in dollars and local guests in pesos
  • Guides, boats and trucks are scheduled by hand today
  • Meals, wine and the asado are part of the stay
  • Agents send you groups by email

…and it may not be the right fit yet if:

  • You need factura T, export invoices or any electronic invoicing from the same system
  • Guests must book and pay online on your website
  • You need one package price for a fishing week
  • The lodge has no internet connection for days at a time

Patagonia lodges ask us

No. Malvavisco prints a numbered invoice for each booking, but it is not a fiscal document and it is not connected to ARCA or the SII. Fiscal invoices stay in your current invoicing system.

Yes. Keep separate rates in each currency. Each booking uses one currency, payments are recorded in it, and reports show dollars and pesos separately.

It can create Mercado Pago payment links for bookings in Argentine pesos, but they have not been tested live yet. Other payments are recorded by your team.

Yes. The workspace can run in Spanish, English or Brazilian Portuguese. Some server-generated labels and export column headers are still in English.
